Our Journey
Faria Arsh
As a mother of a daughter with severe autism and complex learning disabilities, I understand first-hand the challenges that autistic and disabled individuals and their families face every day.
The Autism Foundation C.I.C. was founded from lived experience, unconditional love, determination, and a commitment to creating meaningful change. My journey as a parent has provided invaluable insight into the gaps that exist in support services and the urgent need for greater opportunities, understanding, and inclusion for autistic individuals and those with additional needs.
Following the global success of our award-winning book, Toilet Training for Autistic and SEND Children and Adults, together with the life-changing impact of our training programmes, workshops, family support and professional training services, it became clear that there was a growing need for more comprehensive and long-term support.
Today, Autism Foundation C.I.C. is dedicated to empowering autistic and disabled individuals to reach their full potential while providing families with the guidance, resources, and support they need to thrive. Our vision extends beyond awareness—we are working to create lasting change through education, community programmes, specialist services, and the development of safe, high-quality care facilities that offer dignity, independence, and opportunity for those who need it most.
Together, we can build a future where every autistic and disabled person is valued, supported, and given the opportunity to live a fulfilling life.

What Parents & Professionals have to say
I have a 3.5-year-old who was diagnosed with autism and potty training him felt nearly impossible. My boy is quite a tall lad and changing his Nappies required two people's strength and it would be every minute of hell for me. Not only this but managing his everyday challenges and being able to find support was something I was really struggling with. I was on the verge of giving up until I met Faria. I attended her potty training workshop and bought her book. I found her pricing so reasonable. There are courses out there for nothing less than £90 and Faria only asks you to buy the book and gives you a full detailed workshop to go with. She explains strategies for every situation and is happy to be consulted even after the workshop. She has answers to everything because she has gone through the experience but she also gives unconditional support and allows you to feel that you have someone who understands your pain. I'm really grateful and blessed to have found her because I was able to potty train my son in 1 week and this has really boosted my confidence in myself, my son, and in asd as a condition. Thank you, Faria,
I had such a positive experience at the Autism workshop with Faria. She is a beacon of knowledge when it comes to Autism. Faria would use personal scenarios to explain and I personally feel that helps the other person understand things much better. I have reached out to my son's school to see if they can get some of their teachers on this as I think its extremely useful for everyone. Would highly recommend to parents, older siblings, teachers and other health care professionals
My little one is fully potty trained i am a jolly happy mother Faria's approach using the the timer certainly did wonders.
Am a super proud Mommy
I don't follow her to the loo anymore even for #2 ,she has gained so much independence does everything herself.
I was introduced to Faria by my friend who recommended toilet training workshop for kids with autism. I got in touch with Faria who was very welcoming and helpful. This online workshop is the one that actually helped me! It was well structured, well explained and steps were so easy to understand and follow. Faria’s book ‘ Toilet Training for Autistic & SEND children and adults’ is an excellent and supportive book during this journey of toilet training. I highly recommend Faria’s online workshop and her book which together has helped me with my speech delayed child. My child has followed Faria’s steps really well and he is doing great. So thank you Faria for all your support and help for parents with autistic children!
Faria has a wealth of knowledge that she is happy to share with people willing to learn. Her approach is friendly and loving, just like a member of the family. Faria truly understands what you are going through and wants to help as much as she can. I can’t thank Faria enough
Faria's knowledge, especially in the profound autism area, is amazing. It's not just textbook information being shared. It's personal and lived through experiences, thus genuine and real advice!!!
Imagine I was told by my sons OT that my 10 year old will NOT be ready to toilet train until he shows some understanding of being soiled or until he shows indication of understanding the toilets purpose, thus they cannot add toilet training onto his targets through the EHCP.
I was not settled on this answer, because I knew my son will never understand toileting this way - through waiting and relying on him showing us signs of being ready, because he is severely intellectually disabled. So this advice was just delaying his basic need of being toilet trained. I was thinking the professionals are showing no help, but our children must have ways around their needs in 2025 rather than following the mainstream advice for neurotypical individuals around this topic, like come on!
Through my amazing friend, I was led to the superstar Faria. A mother with so much love for her daughter with profound needs and also love for other SEN individuals too.
After attending her toiletting course, I carried through Faria advice, especially the emphasis on routine to learn the skill, in this case of toileting for my non verbal intellectual disabilied son.
Ontop of already sharing so much information, Faria didn't just let me be and left alone, she responded to any questions I had post course and understood fully the potential harships and how to handle them, again showing her genuine concern to this topic and area in our vulnerable childrens lives. She's been a light in this dark time with her advice and knowledge, unfortunately knowledge which the "professionals" who have degrees in this field couldn't give.
Now imagine I trusted the "OTs" advice and my 10 year old son was still in pads just because I settled on that advice. Don't get me wrong the training was not easy and gruesome, but we got through it and it is possibleee!!! Ahhh I could write so much more but that is all I can share for now. But please give Faria's toilet training course a chance.
I wish I could copy and paste Faria around everywhere. Thank you so so much xxx
I took the 'understanding autism and behaviour' course yesterday and feel so much more knowledgable now that I did before. Faria is so generous with her time and allowed me to ask questions as we went through to relate the topics to the behaviours that I am seeing and potentially misunderstanding with my daughter. I now feel more empowered as to how I can resolve behavioural issues and help her to manage her emotions (and mine!) It was so good to be able to talk to an expert like Faria about some of the concerns and worries I have mother to mother and I really wouldn't hesitate to recommend this course to any parent who needs more guidence or feels out of their depth. Thank you so much Faria - you are an inspiration and your course has truely helped me.
Faria was incredibly knowledgeable and created a space where we could comfortably share all of our experiences. I came away with a much better understanding of Autism and ways to manage situations both personally and professionally.
An amazing foundation with so much information and resources in helping others. Thank you Faria for all that you do for everyone.
The is a really great, well structured, informative course delivered by an experienced coach. Faria understands the topic so well and is able to incorporate real life experiences into her teaching making the content more accessible to the audience. This course is worth every penny.
Great course. Faria and attendees shared their lived experiences and we were offered tools and techniques of coping mechanisms and positive strategies to empower each of us in day to day life. Thank you
Wonderful experience and really inspiring and informative session, this will very helpful for our routines and for our future too, really appreciate to faria and her foundation..thank you so much for sharing this experience with us
This process worked for my 3 year old non verbal autistic daughter. The difference with Fariah’s approach is how she speaks with such experience and compassion. The free workshop (which can be accessed more than once, if needed) clarifies any points and is opportunity to discuss other people’s experiences in a very kind and supportive environment. Highly recommended. Thank you Fariah.
Fariah's workshop was amazing, and really opened my eyes to the world of autism. So many of my own experiences simply seemed to fall into place as she was talking. Things that I had wondered about for so many years became crystal clear, and Fariah also gave me the tools to deal with things moving forward.
I was getting worried about toilet training as nothing was working for my 6 year old autistic son. I went on the training programme organised by Fari and was not sure if it will work for my son at first. I saw results within 2 weeks. We are still using the method to stay consistent but now my boy goes to the toilet on his own. I can not explain in wards how happy I am to see him come so far. This is a brilliant method and works for everyone.
Faria very kindly agreed to do a workshop for parents within The Childrens Bladder and Bowel Service in Tayside . Farah's workshop was incredibly informative , providing invaluable insights and practical solutions for parents struggling with toileting training. Her expertise, approachability, and dedication to addressing individual concerns truly made a difference. The feedback from participants has been resoundingly positive, with many expressing gratitude for the support and guidance received.
I found this book very informative with clear guidance on toilet training a child with autism or additional needs . Faria has an excellent understanding of behavioural therapy and has explained the importance of planning and consistency. The format is accessible and the book provides useful resources .
The autism workshop was delivered in a clear and engaging manner with relevant information and all questions answered in a supportive way. Excellent workshop with much to take away and implement.
The autism training was extremely useful. I learnt a lot of new and interesting things about autism and dealing with behavioural challenges, which was very helpful. Faria was clear and concise so I understood everything very well.
I attended Faria's toilet training online workshop recently. I found Faria to be clear, concise and informative. I hope to toilet train my son in a few months and Faria was kind enough to offer me to take part in a refresher workshop, closer to the time. I was anxious on how to toilet train my son who is non verbal and since attending the workshop I am hopeful that it's possible.
Such a fantastic read, very well written and the toilet training steps are easy to follow. This book is extremely empowering for parents and cares. I can see this book helping so many children in need & their families. Fantastic insight into autism and it’s learning approach. Definitely will be recommending this book to my friends who have kids with additional needs.Content
I was so pleased to attended a toilet training and Autism behaviour workshop with Faria, She’s very kind and professional. I Bought her book that teaches you how to train your child or adult to be independent with the toilet. It was very helpful..
